The administration of the Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan held a video conference with CEO of Azerbaijan's Tovuz-Baltika LLC, Naig Mammadhasanov, Trend reports citing Dunyo News Agency.
The parties discussed implementation of investment projects related to pomegranate growing in Syrdarya region and promotion of the region's export.
Azerbaijani businessman mentioned that in 2018, with participation of Tovuz-Baltika company, a wine plant was established in Fergana region. The enterprise with investment capital of over $500,000 has already started production of wine and cognac products, which are exported to neighboring and far-abroad countries, including China, Latvia, Russia, Finland and Japan.
Mammadasanov expressed interest in realization of joint investment projects with local partners in Syrdarya region on production of pomegranate juice, processing of pomegranate leaves, as well as cultivation of Azerbaijani pomegranate in Uzbekistan, the message said.
The Uzbek side, in turn, also expressed support for the initiatives of Azerbaijani investor and reiterated readiness for close interaction.
Following the talks, agreements have been reached on establishing mutually advantageous cooperation and implementation of relevant investment projects in Syrdarya region.
