The overall value of investments made to Kazakhstan’s fixed assets amounted to 3.7 trillion tenge ($9.8 billion) over the period from Jan. through May 2020, which is 0.1 percent more than during the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
In turn the value of retail trade volume in Kazakhstan amounted to 3.5 trillion tenge ($8.7 billion) during the reporting period of 2020, which is 16.2 percent less than during the same period of 2019. The value of wholesale trade was 7.9 trillion tenge ($19.6 billion) over first five months of 2020 compared to the same period of 2019.
The overall foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan amounted to $28.1 billion over first four months of 2020, which compared to the same period of 2019 indicates a 2.5-percent decrease. The sum includes export worth $18.3 million (decrease by 1 percent), and import worth $9.8 billion (down by 5 percent).
The cargo turnover amounted to 229.5 billion ton-kilometers over the period from Jan. through May 2020 (including the estimated volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), which is 2.9 percent less than during first five months of 2019.
In turn, the passenger turnover dropped by 38.4 percent year-on-year having amounted to 71 billion passenger kilometers over first five months of 2020.
