Gold, copper geological exploration to be completed in two Kazakhstan's regions

Kazakhstan’s Kazgeology National Company will complete geological exploration at four areas in Karaganda region and at one area in East Kazakhstan region this year, the company’s representative told Trend.

The company said that currently, the geological exploration on state assignment is carried out at six sites in Karaganda region and at two sites in East Kazakhstan region.

Thus, exploration work at two sites in the Karaganda region and at one site in the East Kazakhstan region will be launched this year and is expected to be completed in 2022.

“The work is carried out by a state order of the Committee of Geology of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources. The exploration is primarily focused on gold, copper, lead and zinc,” the official said.

In turn, Kazgeology is also holding geological exploration on 30 sites within the framework of investment projects implementation in cooperation with strategic parts. Thus, 17 of these sites are in Karaganda region and 13 of them are in East Kazakhstan region.

“These projects are implemented as part of a search for gold, copper, polymetals, chromites and platinum. In accordance with the project documents, each project is implemented according to an individual exploration plan for a period of two to six years,” the official said.

Kazgeology is Kazakhstan's National Exploration Company, implementing state initiatives on exploration of priority types of minerals.
