Cargo transportation from Russia to Turkey surges from January through May

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24

Some 978 Russian trucks transported cargo to Turkey from January through May 2020, which is 25 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports on June 24 referring to Turkey’s International Freight Forwarders Association (UND).

For the reporting period, 1.48 percent of the total volume of cargo transportation by trucks to Turkey accounted for Russia, the association said.

According to UND, 147 trucks from Russia transported cargo to Turkey in May 2020, which is 28 percent less compared to May 2019.

Some 65,957 trucks transported cargo from foreign countries to Turkey from January through May 2020, which is 22 percent less compared to the period from January through May 2019.

In May 2020, 9,285 trucks transported cargo from foreign countries to Turkey, which is 51 percent less compared to May 2019, the UND said.
