Georgia completes project on medical masks production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10

A program on production of medical masks entitled "Georgian masks" and subsidized by the state, has successfully completed, Trend reports citing Produce in Georgia Agency.

The cost of the program was 3.45 million lari ($1.1 million). Under this program, 5.34 million pieces of reusable masks were sewn.

According to the Produce in Georgia Agency, there is no longer need to continue the program, since the market is already saturated, and other companies producing medical masks have emerged.

As reported, if necessary, the production of reusable masks can be resumed.

The program "Georgian masks" involved 16 production and sewing factories. The cost of their services for tailoring amounted to approximately 1.95 million lari ($639,482).

The program involved such companies as AjaraTextile; Movi; MGMtex; Georgian products; sewing company "Imeri"; ISTANBUL BAZAAR; BTM-TEXTILE; Georgian Textile; College Iberia; Anabechdi; Softtextile Ata; Isaka; Nitex I.p. Nino Anteladze; and Lavrentino.

The cost of Georgian-made masks is 50 tetri (16.40 cents).
