Volume of loaded, unloaded cargo in Iran’s Anzali port increases

The volume of loaded and unloaded cargo in the Anzali port of Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by about 86 percent during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 20-June 20, 2020), compared to the same period of the last Iranian year, said Hamid Reza Abaei, Director General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Gilan Province, Trend reports citing Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to Abaei, there was an increase of 70 percent in the area of container, 98 percent in the grain and 18 percent in the cooking oil.

He added that, the volume of loaded and unloaded cargo via the Astara port of Gilan Province for three months increased by about 42 percent compared to the same period last year.

The director general noted four more equipment pieces have been installed at the Anzali port to improve the loading and unloading operations.

A total of 142,100 tons of products were loaded and unloaded at the Anzali port of Gilan Province in southern Iran during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 20-June 20, 2020).

During this period, 16,200 tons of products were exported and 120,900 tons of products were imported through the port.

About 535 tons of products were loaded and 866 tons were unloaded in transit via the port.

More than 2,400 tons were loaded and 1,100 tons were unloaded at the port for other purposes.

In addition, 11,400 tons of products were exported and 11,700 tons were imported through Iran’s Astara port during three months.
