Uzbekistan becomes main buyer of Kazakh cars

Kazakhstan exported 16.1 billion tenge ($38.6 million) worth of cars to Uzbekistan in the first half of 2020, Trend reports with reference to LS News Agency.

In total, Kazakhstan exported 1,800 cars to Uzbekistan during the period from January through June 2020.

In the first half of 2020, Kazakhstan exported 2,500 cars and commercial vehicles worth 19 billion tenge ($45.6 million). In the same period of 2019, only 607 cars worth 2.2 billion tenge ($5.2 million) were shipped abroad.

Uzbekistan’s Ravon Nexia R3 led TOP 10 best-selling cars in Kazakhstan in the second quarter of 2020, with 4,195 cars sold.

Uzbekistan’s UzAutosanoat (main producer of Uzbek car industry) exported 5,998 cars in the first half of 2020, while during the same period of 2019 some 1,930 cars were exported.

On April 28, 2020, UzAuto Motors (part of Uzautosanoat) jointly with its Kazakh partner SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP announced the start of Chevrolet cars sales in Kazakhstan.
