Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan reveals agricultural export for 1H2020

Agricultural products worth over $40.6 million were exported from Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic from January through June 2020, Trend reports with reference to the report of Nakhchivan’s State Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, the reconstruction of reclamation and irrigation systems was carried out. Reclamation measures were carried out on 73 hectares of lands liberated from occupation in the Sadarak region.

The construction of a pumping station and a line of pressure pipes on the Araz reservoir, a pumping station in the village of Kulus, Shahbuz region, closed irrigation networks in the villages of Turkesh, Salasuz, Maralik and the village of Boyukduz continues.

By the order of Azerbaijan’s President dated April 23, 2020 ‘on additional measures to improve the provision of irrigation water in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and to meet the needs of the population in drinking water’, funds worth 1 million manat ($588,235) were allocated to Nakhchivan’s Cabinet of Ministers.

In 1H2020, measures on protection and establishment of new green spaces of the forest fund were taken. Meanwhile, reforestation work was carried out on an area of ​​282 hectares, and about 206,000 trees were planted.
