Gross regional product of Uzbekistan's capital city slightly decreases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 30

Gross regional product (GRP) of Tashkent decreased by 0.5 percent in the period from January through June 2020 to 40.8 trillion soums ($4.2 billion), compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to the statistical bulletin of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

The share of Tashkent in Uzbekistan's GDP decreased from 16.4 percent to 16 percent.

Capital GRP per capita decreased by 3.3 percent in the first half of 2020 against the same indicator of 2019 and made up 15.7 million soum ($1,600) against GDP per capita of 7.5 million ($766).

In accordance with the official statistics, the volume of industrial production in Tashkent fell by 0.2 percent to 13.6 trillion soum (1.4 billion), services provided by 0.1 percent to 19.6 trillion soum ($2 billion) and construction works grew by 0.1 percent to 3.7 trillion soum ($378.2 million).

Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan's GDP grew by 0.2 percent in real terms in the first half of 2020 against the same indicator of 2019 and made up 255.3 trillion soum ($26.1 billion).
