Net profit of Uzbekiston Pochtasi JSC (national postal operator) in the first half of 2020 amounted to 4.5 billion soum ($439,181), Trend reports citing the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications.
Revenue of Uzbekiston Pochtasi JSC in the first half of 2020 increased by 34 percent, compared to the same period in 2019.
Net profit of Uzbekiston Pochtasi JSC for 2019 amounted to about 200 million soum ($19,519).
As a result of postal exchange with 90 countries, export of services made up $1.6 million.
In the first half of 2020, Uzbekiston Pochtasi JSC opened 34 postal offices and 43 postal offices, and created over 430 new jobs.
Furthermore, the development of hybrid mail service, courier services, financial and other services, online sales and delivery of goods from manufacturers to customers was launched.
In addition, a National Online Trading Platform for the export of goods is being developed, and automated self-service complexes for receiving mail from customers are being introduced.
The network of the national postal operator includes 14 regional and four specialized offices.
