More than 3.81 million mobile phones were imported to Iran from the beginning of current year (March 20, 2020) to August 17, Spokesman for Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.
According to Latifi, the value of imported mobile phones exceeded $610 million.
Latifi added that 2.14 million mobile phones were imported during the same period last Iranian year, and the value of imported mobile phones exceeded $199 million.
The official noted that the average price of mobile phones imported stand at approximately $160 compared to the average price for imported mobile phones amounting to $93 during last Iranian year.
The spokesman added that on average, about 30,000 mobile phones have imported daily to the country since the start of the current Iranian year.
