Iran discloses volume of cargo loaded, unloaded in ports of Hormozgan Province

A total of 41,900 tons of cargo was loaded and unloaded in the Jask, Chark, and Tiab ports of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 22 - August 21, 2020), Trend reports citing Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran (PMO).

According to the report, about 9,470 tons of essential goods were loaded for export in the Jask port in the 5th month.

“The exported goods via Jask port were mainly wheat, barley, corn, soybeans, rice, sugar, butter and cooking oil, meat, and other food products and agricultural goods,” the report said.

During the reporting period, a total of 31,600 tons of goods were loaded through the Chark port. Of this amount, 8,500 tons were loaded for export and 23,000 tons for cabotage.

According to the report, 18,500 tons of metal products and 13,000 tons of other goods were loaded at the Chark port in the 5th month.

“Furthermore, 809 tons of goods were loaded and unloaded at the Tiab port in the 5th month. Of this amount, 9 tons were loaded for export, and 800 tons were unloaded for import,” the report added.

The exported goods via Tiab port were mainly, wheat, barley, corn, soy, rice, sugar, butter, meat, and other essential products.

In total, 5.93 million tons of goods were loaded and 4.08 million tons were unloaded through Iranian ports in the 5th month.

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports decreased by 19.8 percent during the reporting period compared to the same period last Iranian year.
