A total of 20,600 tons of cargo was loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) in the 5-th month of the current Iranian year (July 22 - August 21, 2020), Trend reports citing Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran (PMO).
According to the report, 10,500 tons of goods were exported and 10,100 tons were imported through Astara port in the 5-th month.
“About, 4,570 tons of essential products, 6,200 tons of construction materials and mining materials, 81 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 2,810 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded at the Astara port over 5-th month,” the report said.
In addition, 204 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, wood and other similar goods, 119 tons of other goods were loaded and unloaded in the port during the same period, according to the report.
In total, 5.93 million tons of goods were loaded and 4.08 million tons were unloaded through Iranian ports in the 5th month.
The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports decreased by 19.8 percent during the reporting period compared to the same period last Iranian year.
