Iran launches tile factory in Sarakhs Special Economic Zone

TEHRAN, Iran, Sept.10

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has inaugurated a tile and ceramic factory in Sarakhs Special Economic Zone in the Khorasan Razavi Province, said deputy in Khorasan Razavi Governorate Ali Rasoulian, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The launch of the Tandis Abrisham Tile and Ceramic Factory has cost €22.5 million, plus 200 billion rials (about $4.7 million)," said Rasoulian.

"The factory has the annual production capacity of 12 million square meters of tile and ceramics, allowing to open up some 600 new job spots, during first phase of its work," he said.

"The factory has the capacity to supply domestic needs and export products to the neighboring countries, including Afghanistan and Central Asian countries," he added.

"Tandis Abrisham Tile and Ceramic Factory construction plan is one of 14 national investment plans in the country's special economic zones. The government has invested about $285 million in these plans, to create jobs for some 3,541 people," he said.

Sarakhs Special Economic Zone has started its work in 1996, being located close to the Central Asian countries.
