Volume of Iran's exports via Chabahar port increases

The volume of exports via the Chabahar port of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (northeastern Iran) increased by 37 percent from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to September 11, compared to the same period last Iranian year, said Behrouz Aghaei, Director General of Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran’s branch in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Trend reports referring to the organization.

The director general stressed that the exported goods were mainly construction materials, agricultural goods and other goods.

“In addition, the volume of essential goods imported via this port increased by 330 percent during the reporting period, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he added.

Aghaei said that the transit of goods via the Chabahar port also increased 157 times.

A total of 239,000 tons of cargo was loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iran) in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 22-August 21, 2020).

During this month, 1,110 tons of goods were exported and 80,400 tons were imported through the port.

More than 1,810 tons of goods were loaded and 10,500 tons were unloaded for transit via the Chabahar port over 5th month.

About 75,100 tons of essential products, 714 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 44 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the first month.

At the same time, 175 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, wood and other similar goods, 291 tons of other goods, 18,200 tons of container products and about 144,000 tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port.
