Minister highlights advantages of Produce in Georgia program

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2

More than 600 projects have been financed under the Produce in Georgia program, more than 6,000 beneficiaries have received micro-grants and more than 34,000 jobs have been created, said Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava, Trend reports via Georgian media.

According to the minister, the project “100 investment proposals for business” is successful. As she noted, the development of innovations and technologies has accelerated, up to 200 startups have been financed.

Turnava says that with continued support from private investment, Georgia will continue to develop into a regional business hub.

As Turnava noted, the efficient operation of technoparks and financing of innovative projects will be ensured, digital skills programs will be introduced.

Meanwhile, the government has updated its investment attraction strategy.

The government's economic group worked with the World Bank and International Finance Corporation on new investment policy. The updated strategy is aimed at promoting specific industries, communicating with over 400 companies, and offering them an attractive investment environment and conditions with definite benefits.
