More than 700 companies have stopped working since March 1 in Georgia, Trend reports via Georgian media.
As reported, 1,600 companies have temporarily suspended operating and are waiting for the market to stabilize.
The largest share accounts for the construction and real estate sector (23 percent), followed by food (21 percent) and distribution companies (8 percent).
Economic activities are halted by the companies involved in the most affected tourism industry. Operating became difficult for cafes and restaurants.
Sectors where most companies have ceased working
• Construction and Real Estate - 23 percent;
• Food products - 21 percent;
• Distribution - 8 percent;
• Restaurants, bars - 7 percent;
• Tourism - 7 percent;
• Transport and shipping - 6 percent;
• Office and household goods - 6 percent;
• Medicine, beauty, and sports - 6 percent.
And the remaining 16 percent of the companies were distributed to other existing categories.
