Georgia reveals volume of funds spent for quarantine space

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 9

Georgia has spent over 54 million lari ($15.9 million) in eight months since early March for quarantine space, Trend reports via the Georgian National Tourism Administration.

Funds spent during these months were distributed as follows:
March – 5.92 million lari ($1.7 million);
April – 9.5 million lari ($2.8 million);
May – 8 million lari ($2.3 million);
June – 4.33 million lari ($1.2 million);
July – 4.79 million lari ($1.4 million);
August – 7.71 million lari ($2.2 million);
September – 7.02 million lari ($2.06 million);
October – 6.76 million lari ($1.9 million).

Some 211 hotels are used for quarantine (11,486 rooms in total) in the country.

In total, 112,762 people have used quarantine space since early March in Georgia. Meanwhile, 636 coronavirus cases in the country were reported from the hotel space used for quarantine.

Over 3,580 people from the tourism industry are employed in the quarantine space in Georgia.
