Georgia reveals volume of exported tangerines

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov.17

The harvesting process of tangerine has already begun in Georgia and as of the preliminary data, the volume has amounted to 40,000 tons, Trend reports via the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

According to the ministry, up to 30 enterprises will receive the non-standard harvest.

As of November 17, some 653 tons of tangerine worth of $295,000 have been exported.

The volume of exported tangerine is 138 percent higher comparing to the same period of 2019. The export value increased by $149,000.

"Tangerines were mainly exported to the Russian Federation (185 tons) this year. Georgian mandarins were also exported to Ukraine, Moldova, and Kazakhstan," the statement reads.
