Iranian coal companies boost production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 21

The coal concentrate production of two companies affiliated with the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) increased by 3 percent during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through November 20, 2020), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

According to the report, Iran's Tabas Parvadeh Coal Company and the Central Alborz Coal Company produced about 472,000 tons of coal concentrate within 8 months. While in the same period last Iranian year, this figure was 457,000 tons.

“The two companies extracted 1.21 million tons of crude coal tar in eight months. The extraction of crude coal tar increased by 5 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 1.16 million tons of crude coal tar were extracted from the mines in the same period last year,” the report said.

In addition, the companies produced 60,000 tons of coal concentrate in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 21 through November 20). The production increased by 11 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 53,900 tons of coal concentrate were produced in the same month last Iranian year, the report said.

According to the report, the Tabas Parvadeh Coal Company and the Central Alborz Coal Company transported 56,900 tons of coal concentrate to relevant companies in Iran. The coal concentrate transportation increased by 42 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year (40,000 tons).
