Managing Director of Shahid Rajaei customs office Abolfazl Akbarpour announced the clearance of 2.8 million tons of basic goods since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started on March 20) from the province's customs, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.
"Due to lack of foreign exchange resources and the outbreak of the coronavirus since the beginning of the year, the customs clearance of good`s process faced some issues, which led to an increase in the stuck period of goods at customs warehouses," Akbarpour explained.
"In the first half of the current Iranian year (started on March 20), the government and the market regulation headquarters have ordered to facilitate the clearance of essential goods," he said.
He stated that according to these orders, the clearance of 90 percent of basic and manufactured goods from customs has been facilitated without receiving a bank tracking code.
Akbarpour went on to say that the remaining basic goods in the ports and customs of the province are ready to be gradually cleared.
