Magnum Cash & Carry, the largest retail chain in Kazakhstan, has announced plans to enter the Uzbek market, Trend reports with reference to spot.uz.

Founded in 2007, Magnum is the largest trade and retail chain in Kazakhstan with shopping malls and stores in nine cities of the country. Today, 92 branches employ 11,000 employees. About 1,100 partners-suppliers of products cooperate with the company.

The company intends to offer customers a wide range of goods (up to 20,000 items), produced in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, imported from other countries. The retailer will also launch the Magnum Club bonus program.

The head of Magnum Cash & Carry Azamat Osmanov said that in 2021 the retailer plans to open up to six stores in Tashkent.

“We will focus on creating jobs for Tashkent residents, training personnel and creating conditions for career growth, just as we do in Kazakhstan. We will make every other possible effort to make a contribution to the growth of the country's economy,” he said.

Currently, Magnum Cash & Carry is looking for sites for the construction of its stores. The company is ready to consider options in existing buildings. The opening date of the first store will be announced later.

In December 2020 it was reported that Carrefour International supermarket chain entered the Uzbek market and opened the first supermarket in Tashkent.
