The volume of essential products available in Iran's commercial ports amounts about 4 million tons, at present, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Chairman of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) Mohammad Rastad said, Trend reports citing the organization’s portal.
The deputy minister noted that 1 million tons of essential products are being unloaded from ships.
"In total, there are more than 7 million tons of goods in Iranian ports," the he added.
Rastad emphasized that in addition, there are currently 92,000 TEU containers in Iranian ports.
The chairman said that about 50 percent of Iran's maritime trade is accounted for the Shahid Rajaee port and ports of Hormozgan Province.
