Share of nuts, fruits, citrus peels in Azerbaijan's total export increases

Azerbaijan's exports of fruits, nuts and citrus peels totaled $353 million by early 2021, having declined 2.6 percent or $9.5 million over the year, Trend reports referring to the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

The share of these products in the total export of Azerbaijan increased from 1.85 to 2.57 percent, the SCC said.

“In import operations of fruits, nuts and citrus peels, a slight decline of $258,300 (0.2 percent) is observed over the year. Their volume amounted to 124.3 million manat ($73.1 million). The share of these products in Azerbaijan's total imports amounted to 1.16 percent, while in 2019 - 0.91 percent,” the report said.

The total foreign trade turnover of fruits, nuts and citrus peels as of early 2021 amounted to $477.4 million, which is 2 percent or $9.77 million less than in 2019.

In general, by the end of 2020, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $24.4 billion. Of these, more than $13.7 billion, or 56.15 percent, accounted for exports, and the remaining $10.7 billion or 43.85 percent - for imports.
