Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company has exported more than 1,300 tractors worth more than 5 trillion rials (about $119 million) since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020), Executive Director of the company, Abolfath Ebrahimi said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
The director stressed that the company's tractors have been exported to Africa, Latin America, and neighboring countries.
He added that the efforts are being made to increase the number of tractors to be exported in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, to March 21, 2021) to 1,700.
Ebrahimi noted that Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company produces more than 20,000 tractors of 20 types per year.
The director said that thanks to the efforts of local specialists, 90 percent of tractor spare parts are currently produced domestically. Thus, Iran's import of spare parts from European countries, China, and India has been suspended.
Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company was established in 1968 with its headquarters in East Azerbaijan. Over the past 50 years, by holding 12 subordinate companies and the capacity to produce more than 30,000 units of tractors per year, the company has become the largest and biggest agricultural machinery producer in the entire Middle East.
