Sales of Iranian mining companies soar

The sales of Iranian mining companies increased by 93 percent during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through February 18, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, the sale of 74 mining companies at the Iranian Stock Exchange amounted to 2.77 quadrillion rials (about $65.8 billion) over 11 months.

“The Mobarakeh Steel Company has the largest amount of sales among the companies. So, the company sold 662 trillion rials (about $15.7 billion) worth of goods within 11 months,” the report said.

Moreover, the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) took the second place in terms of sales. The sales of the company for 11 months amounted to 346 trillion rials (about $8.23 billion), the report said.

According to the report, Iran's Khouzestan Steel Company was in third place in terms of sales. So, the company's sales were worth 268 trillion rials (about $6.37 billion).

“At the same time, the sales of the Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company amounted to 254 trillion rials (about $6.04 billion) and the Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company – 223 trillion rials (about $5.3 billion) over the reporting period,” the report said.

Furthermore, the sales of 74 companies amounted to 365 trillion rials (about $8.69 billion) in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 20 through February 18, 2021). This figure increased by 7 percent compared to the 10th month (December 21, 2020 through January 19, 2021), and by 156 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year, the report said.

According to the report, the sales of 74 mining companies on the Iranian Stock Exchange accounted for 32 percent of total sales at the exchange.
