Kazakhstan may take part in restoration of Azerbaijani liberated lands

Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are considering the issue of cooperation in the restoration of civilian infrastructure in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan told Trend.

As the Kazakh MFA noted, construction companies in Kazakhstan are ready to take part in the restoration of the destroyed infrastructure in the liberated territories of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Currently, negotiations are underway and the search for infrastructure projects where Kazakhstani companies could participate, the foreign ministry said.

The ministry also noted that during a telephone conversation between the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on December 24, 2020, Kazakh construction companies were invited by the Azerbaijani side to take part in the restoration of civil infrastructure in Nagorno-Karabakh.

"Moreover, the Comprehensive Program for the development of multifaceted cooperation for the medium term for 2021-2025 between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan is currently being coordinated. The program provides for a point for the restoration of civil infrastructure in Nagorno-Karabakh and the participation of Kazakh construction companies," the ministry said.
