Turkmenistan prioritizes promotion of domestic goods to world markets

Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of cooperation, the promotion of domestic goods on world markets, Trend reports with reference to Business Turkmenistan information portal.

The Program for the Development of Foreign economic Activity of Turkmenistan for 2020-2025, which involves ministries and the private sector, is aimed at developing cooperation and promoting Turkmen goods to world markets.

Currently, the issue of mutual opening of Trading Houses of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan for the promotion of products and the conclusion of contracts between entrepreneurs of the two countries is being worked out.

The status of an observer country in the World Trade Organization (WTO) contributes to the opening of new opportunities in strengthening Turkmenistan's position in the international trade system, in improving the effectiveness of its trade strategy.

Turkmenistan received observer status in the WTO on July 22, 2020, during a meeting in Geneva. Turkmenistan applied for observer status in the WTO in May 2020.

As it was reported earlier, representatives of Turkmenistan and WTO discussed an overview of Turkmenistan’s trade and economic policy prepared by WTO.

A special government commission has been established in Turkmenistan to follow up the issues of Turkmenistan's accession to the World Trade Organization.
