Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover settled at nearly $6.66 billion in the first quarter of 2021, which is 2.6 percent less compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing a report from the State Customs Committee (SCC).
“In the structure of foreign trade turnover of the country, exports amounted to $4.13 billion, having dropped by 1.6 percent on an annualized basis. The share of exports decreased by 0.53 percentage points over the year - to 61.47 percent of the total volume of foreign trade turnover,” the report said.
“From January through March 2021, imports to Azerbaijan amounted to over $2.53 billion, having decreased by 3.8 percent compared to the same period of 2020. The share of imports in the total turnover decreased by 0.55 percentage points - to 38.5 percent of the total imports,” said the SCC report.
The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis decreased by 6.6 percent, but remained positive, totaling $1.6 billion.
