The Export Guarantee Fund of Iran (EGFI) set a record on supporting exporters in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the fund’s information portal.

According to the report, so, the Export Guarantee Fund of Iran provided $3.56 billion in support to exporters over the last Iranian year.

“This figure shows an increase of 35 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020),” the report said.

Despite a number of economic problems (coronavirus pandemic, inflation, sanctions), the Export Guarantee Fund of Iran continued to support exporters last year, the report said.

The EGFI export support ratio rose to 10 percent, which is higher than the average for developing countries.

At the same time, the EGFI paid $5.1 million to Iranian exporters to facilitate the export process and $3.7 million to repair the damage.

As reported, Iran's total foreign trade turnover amounted to about 146 million tons worth $73 billion in the last Iranian year. During this period, Iran exported 112 million tons of goods worth about $35 billion and imported 33.4 million tons worth $38.4 billion.
