Azerbaijan boosts import of coffee, tea

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11

Exports of coffee and tea from Azerbaijan totaled $2.08 million from January through March 2021, showing a decline of 7.5 percent compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC).

As the SCC reported, the share of these products in the total export of Azerbaijan has settled at 0.05 percent.

“Meanwhile, imports of coffee and tea to Azerbaijan increased by $834,240 (6 percent) – surpassing $14.7 million. The share of these products in the total imports of Azerbaijan amounted to 0.58 percent, while a year earlier - 0.53 percent,” the committee said.

Consequently, the volume of foreign trade turnover of coffee and tea exceeded $16.8 million, which is 4.1 percent ($666,310) more compared to the same period of 2020.

The value of Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January through March approached $6.66 billion. Of these, more than $4.137 billion (62.05 percent) accounted for exports, the remaining $2.53 billion (37.95 percent) - for imports.
