The exports of Iran's sweets, chocolate and cereal products increased by 21 percent in terms of value in the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, an official of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Mahmoud Bazari said, Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.
Bazari noted that about $400-$500 million worth of sweets, chocolate and cereal products were exported in the first month.
He added that these products were mainly exported to four countries - Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
According to the official, Iran can further increase exports of these products by providing raw materials, liquidity and working capital.
As reported, Iran exported 8.3 million tons of goods worth $2.97 billion and imported 2.04 million tons of goods worth $2.79 billion during the first month of the current Iranian year.
