Azerbaijan's export of fruits and vegetables has exceeded $131.5 million since the beginning of 2021, Head of the Azerbaijan Fruit and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association Bashir Guliyev told Trend.
“Azerbaijan exported about 119,960 tons of fruits and vegetables in the first quarter of 2021,” Guliyev added. “Tomatoes, hazelnuts, apples and persimmons were mainly exported during the reporting period.”
"Russia and Belarus are still the main importers of fruits and vegetables grown in Azerbaijan," head of the association said.
"Azerbaijan supplied about 36,670 tons of tomatoes and 20,850 tons of apples to the foreign markets in the first quarter of 2021," Guliyev said.
The Association was established on September 16, 2016 to coordinate the activity of entrepreneurs involved in the production and export of fruits and vegetables, expand cooperation between them, increase production and expand the country's export opportunities.
