The sales of the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) more than doubled during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2021), compared to the same period of the last Iranian year, the Managing Director of the company, Ardashir Sad Mohammadi said, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.
According to him, the NICICO sold 69.4 trillion rials (about $1.65 billion) worth of products within the two month.
The director added that moreover, the company sales amounted to 55.4 trillion rials (about $1.32 billion) in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21, through May 21, 2021). This is an increase of 2 times compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, the company sold products worth 27.7 trillion rials (about $661 million) in the same month last Iranian year.
Sad Mohammadi noted that the company has also beaten new record on copper cathode sales for two months. NICICO sold 29,400 tons of copper cathode over the 2 months.
"In two months, the National Iranian Copper Industries Company produced 50,000 tons of copper cathode, which is an increase of 7 percent, compared to the production plan. The company also produced about 217,000 tons of copper concentrate. This is an increase of 5 percent, compared to the plan. As well as, the company produced 52,400 tons of raw copper. This shows an increase of 5 percent compared to the plan," he said.
