By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

The creation of infrastructures in Iran's trade sector can increase the country's trade turnover by 20-40 percent annually, head of Export Committee in Iran Chamber of Commerce Jamshid Nafar told IRNA, Trend reports.

Nafar noted that Iran's current trade turnover is very small compared to the country's export and import potential.

The official added that the country's trade can be increased by implementing plans that reflect the right, logical and comprehensive economic priorities.

"At present, the lack of necessary infrastructures prevents the maximum development of trade turnover," he said.

According to Nafar, trade in Iran will depend on macro-policies by the end of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022). If there is a balance in these macro-policies, we can see remarkable developments in Iran's trade.

As reported, Iran's trade turnover with the world countries amounted to 22.2 million tons worth $12.8 billion in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2021). This is an increase of 38 percent in terms of value and 6.6 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
