As in many areas in Iran, the stability can also be created in household appliances market as a result of two important factors, the vice president of Iran Home Appliances Sellers Association Mohammad Hossein Eslamian told ILNA, Trend reports.
Eslamian stressed that these two factors are the ongoing presidential election in Iran and the ongoing discussions on Iran's nuclear program in Vienna, Austria.
He said it is not yet possible to make any forecasts regarding the rise and fall of prices in the Iranian household appliances market.
The vice president added that if the current stagnation in the household appliances market continues, some manufacturing enterprises will inevitably change employment or cease operations.
“As for the export of Iranian household appliances to neighboring countries, the goods of any brand are available in neighboring countries and are sold at lower prices. For example, a washing machine made in Iran costs 130 million rials (about $3,000). While in neighboring countries, the cost of a washing machine of the same size and other brands is 70-80 million rials (about $1,660-$1,900),” he said.
The official noted that the Iranian-made household appliances are 30 percent more expensive than foreign brands. In this case, it is very difficult to talk about the export of household appliances.
