Iran is interested in investments by foreign companies in the manufacturing of household appliances, The spokesman of Iran’s Home Appliances Manufacturers Union Hamidreza Ghaznavi said Trend reports citing IRNA.
According to Ghaznavi, Iran does not intend to close its doors to foreign investors on the manufacturing of household appliances.
The official added that Iran has made a number of achievements in the manufacturing of household appliances, and it is possible to make progress in this area with foreign investment. Of course, along with foreign investment in this area, Iran also wants to transport new technologies to Iran.
As reported, Iran exported $200 million worth of household appliances over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021). Iran is planned to export 600 million worth of household appliances during the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022).
The Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade of Iran plans to manufacture 1.2 million TVs, 1.9 million refrigerators, 1.05 million water conditioners, and 1.08 million washing machines in the current Iranian year.
The working capital in Iran's household appliances sector is $6 billion. At present, 300,000 people work in this field and 500 production enterprises operate.
