Exports from Iran's Ardabil Province increase

The exports from the Ardabil Province (northwestern Iran) increased by 108 percent in terms of value and about 45 percent in terms of volume over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Ardabil Province Ramin Sadeghi said, Trend reports citing the organization.

Sadeghi stressed that 233,000 tons of goods worth about $271 million were exported from Ardabil Province in the last Iranian year.

The chairman added that the exported goods were mainly potatoes, glass and mirrors, rubber, products, construction materials, medical supplies, etc.

“About 39 percent of the exported goods were accounted for industrial products, 51 percent - agricultural and food products, 5 percent - mining and metal products, 5 percent - chemical and petrochemical products," he said.

According to the Sadeghi, these goods were mainly exported to Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The chairman noted that moreover, 24,300 tons of goods worth $67.4 million were imported to Iran's Ardabil Province within the last Iranian year. The imports increased by 15 percent in terms of value and decreased by 52 percent in terms of volume, compared to the preceding Iranian year.
