Iran's export to Eurasian countries increases - Chamber of Commerce

TEHRAN, Iran, June 23

The relations of Iran and Eurasia has been developing after the signing of the free trade agreement between EEU and Iran, head of Iran-Kazakstan Joint Chamber of Commerce Amir Abedi told Trend.

"In trade with Eurasia Economic Union, Iran has recorded the export growth," Abedi said.

"Iran's export to Eurasian countries had a 66-percent growth in the first two months of the current Iranian year (started March 21,2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year (started March 20,2020). This indicates that Eurasia is important for us," he said.

He added that Iran had a significant export growth to Russia, Kazakhstan, but at the same time, recoded a 46-percent decline in imports from Eurasia.

"Agricultural inputs are the major imports from Eurasia, these items are initially being imported in the second half of a year and increase of import would occur after six months," he said, talking about the reason for decline of imports from the EEU.
