Priority issues of interaction between Turkmenistan and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) were considered, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The discussions were held during a round table with the participation of the heads of relevant ministries of Turkmenistan and the delegation of the ECO, which arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.

The parties discussed issues related to holding priority events on the ECO platform for the comprehensive implementation of the "Concepts of Chairmanship of Turkmenistan in this organization in 2021".

The sides also exchanged views on the preparations for the 15th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization in Ashgabat, which will be held on November 28 this year.

The parties also discussed the issues of holding a regular meeting of the Regional Planning Council under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan in July this year.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Secretary-General of the ECO Hadi Soleimanpour.

As reported, Turkmenistan is considering promoting the expansion of partnership opportunities within the ECO in the economic, trade, industrial, energy, transport, and communication, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Thus, Turkmenistan plans to work with its partners to create conditions for further activation of trade and economic relations between the countries.
