Russia imported Turkmen textiles, sets and clothing worth $4.2 million from January through May 2021, while imports amounted to $3.9 million from January through May 2020, the Federal State Statistics Service of Russia (Rosstat) told Trend.
In addition, during the reporting period, the Russian import of Turkmen clothing items and accessories amounted to over $2 million, while from January through May 2020 this amount was $1.3 million.
Also, there is an increase in the import of Turkmen cotton - $8.7 million from January through May 2021 - $6.2 million from January through May 2020.
The total trade turnover of Turkmenistan and Russia from January through May 2021 amounted to $243 million.
In general, the volume of Russian exports to Turkmenistan in the reporting period amounted to $179.5 million, while the import of goods from Turkmenistan to Russia amounted to $63.5 million.
