By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:
Iran implements certain plans for modern irrigation systems and drainage in Iran's Ilam Province, the Deputy Governor of Ilam Province Ahmad Karami told Trend.
Karami stressed that about 14.5 trillion rials (about $345 million) are to be spent in this regard.
The deputy governor noted that if operations on these plans are completed, 18,000 hectares will be drained. As a result, the province's agricultural production will increase by 90,000 tons a year.
“In addition, a 376-bed hospital in Iran's Ilam Province will be opened in the next few months. The hospital has cost 3 trillion rials (about $71.4 million). And thus, some of the province's health problems will be solved,” he added.
According to Karami, in general, it is planned to complete the construction of facilities in the Ilam Province, which have more than 80 percent progress in the construction work, within the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022). These facilities are in the areas of roads and urban development, health, gas supply, sports and education.
