Azerbaijan discloses total volume of grain harvested since early 2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug.21

The volume of grain harvest in Azerbaijan amounted to 3.57 million tons from 960,400 hectares of area (97.7 percent of the total sown area for cereals) as of August 17, 2021, Trend reports citing the report of the State Statistics Committee.

The grain yield amounted to 31.8 centners per hectare, said the report.

During this period, 1.85 million tons of wheat, 1.14 million tons of barley and 25,100 tons of other grain crops were harvested.

Grain harvesting has already been completed in 28 districts of Azerbaijan, as well as in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The highest yield was recorded in Barda - 44 centners per hectare, Sabirabad - 41.9 centners, Tartar- 40.9 centners, Saatli - 40.8 centners, Aghdam - 40.2 centners, Salyan - 39.9 centners, Imishli - 39,3 centners, Aghjabadi - 39.3 centners, Samukh - 37.4 centners and Tovuz - 37.2 centners - districts.

In the Shaki district, 199,900 tons of grain were harvested, in Jalilabad – 176,600 tons, Kurdamir – 128,000 tons, Neftchala – 123,800 tons, Fuzuli – 118,000 tons, Aghsu – 113,700 tons, Aghjabadi – 105,500 tons, and in Nakhchivan – 118,000 tons.
