Iran shares data on rice imports via Bushehr port

TEHRAN, Iran, Aug. 24

The head of the General Department of Grain and Commercial Services of Bushehr province announced the daily unloading of 2,500 tons of rice in Bushehr Port.

So far, more than 18,000 tons of the imported rice have been unloaded and stored in Choghadak storage centers of the department to be distributed to desired destinations, Jamal Zareiee said, Trend reports citing ILNA.

The Bushehr port w almost stopped the unloading operation from 2008 to 2017. The port began its operation after dredging of 14 meters, which has been led to docking the ships carrying cargo up to 30,000 tons.

“Since 2017, 10 ships carrying 137,000 tons of basic goods have been docked in Bushehr port,” said Zareiee.

He went on to note that since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started on March 21), 43,000 tons of basic goods have entered the country through the port of Bushehr.
