Trend:

Iran's private sector is ready to cooperate in the industrial and economic development of Afghanistan, said vice president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA), Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

Mohammad Amirzadeh expressed hope the country would follow policies to develop economic ties with private sector cooperation, indicating Iran's private sector could help the mine processing in Afghanistan and creating jobs.

"Considering that Iran has high energy reserves and Afghanistan has high mineral capacities these two could be an advantage for our economy, Iran can create energy security in Afghanistan's development and witness economic improvement in both countries," he said.

Amirzadeh noted providing industrial development and creating jobs is important for Iran's security while sustainable economic ties would form.

"Afghanistan has high reserves of iron ores and it can secure processing and export of mine products via Iran to target markets by supplying energy and providing a secure market for their export," he explained.

The official emphasized Iran could ensure a secure environment for the Afghan trade side and attract businessmen to develop the economy in both countries.

Afghanistan has over 1,400 mineral fields, containing barite, chromite, coal, copper, gold, iron ore, lead, natural gas, petroleum, precious and semi-precious stones.
