Iran provided a loan of 26 trillion rials (about $619 million) for the purchase of agricultural machinery during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), Director of the Iranian Agricultural Equipment Development Center Kambiz Abbasi said, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Iran.
The director said that this is about 87 percent of the loan to be attracted in the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021, through 20, March 2022).
Abbasi added that machinery will be used in planting, gardening, livestock, poultry, and fish farming.
“A total of 62,000 units of agricultural machinery on grain planting will be purchased with the loans. Thus, more than 86 percent of wheat, barley, and rapeseed in the country will be planted via machinery,” he said.
