Iran shares data on rapeseed cultivation

A total of 280,000 tons of rapeseed have been cultivated in Iran from April 6 to September 19, 2021, an official of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Iran Gholamhossein Khedraei said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

The official stressed that 260,000 tons of cultivated rapeseed have been purchased by the Iranian Government Trading Corporation (GTC) and edible oil processing plants. So, 127,000 tons were purchased by the GTC and 133,000 tons by processing plants.

Khedraei added that 101,000 tons of rapeseed have been cultivated in Iran's Khuzestan Province, 70,000 tons in Golestan Province and 22,000 tons in Ilam Province.

As reported, rapeseed has been planted on 350,000 hectares in Iran in the current Iranian year and 600,000 tons of rapeseed are estimated to be harvested.

One kilogram of rapeseed is purchased by the Government Trading Corporation of Iran for 110,000 rials (about $2.61).

A number of products, including wheat, tea, rice, and other products are purchased from farmers by GTC under a guarantee in Iran.
