Turkmenistan, Russian St. Petersburg plan to open trading houses

Turkmenistan and the Russian city of St. Petersburg plan to open mutual trading houses, Trend reports referring to the official website of the St. Petersburg administration.

Priority areas of joint work were discussed during the meeting of the delegation of the Government of St. Petersburg headed by Governor Alexander Beglov with Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

In 2021, trade between St. Petersburg and Turkmenistan increased by almost 30 percent.

Beglov noted that the opening of Trading Houses in St. Petersburg and Turkmenistan will contribute to its further increase.

The trading house of St. Petersburg is planned to be located in the projected complex - "Ashgabat City". It will be created according to the principles of a "smart city". Russian companies are planning to take part in its construction.

Trading houses of Turkmenistan currently operate in Afghanistan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, and in two cities of Russia - Moscow, and Kazan. These trading houses not only organize a permanent demonstration and trading platform but also provide foreign firms with consulting services on establishing business ties with Turkmenistan.
