In total, Iran exported about 206 tons of saffron worth about $103 million, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2021), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
Over 9 months, Iran exported 34.8 tons of saffron worth $17.8 million in small packages to 52 countries, including, China, the UAE and Spain, according to Latifi.
The official added that Iran also exported 20 tons of saffron worth $9.45 million in medium packages to 29 countries, including, the UAE, China and India within the mentioned period.
The spokesman also noted that Iran exported 151 tons of saffron worth $76 million in large packages to 56 countries, including, China, Spain and the UAE in 9 months,” he said.
“Moreover, Iran exported a total of 447 kilograms of saffron powder worth $504,000 for the reporting period,” he said.
