Kazakhstan sees almost twofold increase in number of housing purchases

The number of purchases and sales of real estate in Kazakhstan amounted to 606,056 transactions over the period from January through December 2021, which is 96.8 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The total number of buy/sell transactions in Kazakhstan in December 2021 amounted to 94,988 transactions, which is 2.1 times more than in November 2021 and 3 times more than during the same month of 2020.

Karaganda region ranked first by a number of purchases (11,870 transactions in December 2021), showing a 2.2 times increase compared to November 2021 and a 3.2 times increase compared to December 2020.

The second largest number of transactions was observed in Almaty city where it amounted to 10,448 transactions, which is 63.3 percent more than in November 2021 and 93.8 percent more than in December 2020.

Almaty city is followed by Nur-Sultan city with 8,870 transactions, which is 15.6 percent more than during November 2021 and 2.2 times more than in December 2020.

The least number of purchases and sales of housing transactions during December 2021 was observed in the North Kazakhstan region (1,709 transactions, an increase of 2 times compared to November 2021 and an increase of 2.5 times compared to December 2020).
